A wonderful source for children's books with a local theme, the Bess Press is an independent, family-owned book publishing business located in Honolulu. Started in 1979 with the reprint of two Hawaiian history textbooks, the list of titles has grown to over 200 books, cassettes, maps and CD-ROMs encompassing Hawaiian Studies, Pacific Island Studies and Asian Studies.
